Tributes and Donations

It’s easy to make a contribution “In Honor” or “In Memory” of a friend or relative. When you do, a tribute card will be sent to the recipient notifying them of your donation. There are three ways to make your donation:

 

Go to the “Make a Donation” page and use our secure PayPal account to make your donation online.

 

Mail your check, along with the information about your contribution to:

Following is a list of the many funds CBI has established to help subsidize the synagogue, the congregation and the community.

 

Tribute Funds ($5 minimum donation)

Building Fund: provides maintenance of the synagogue.

Donald & Harriet Freeman Scholarship Fund: provides financial assistance to students of higher learning.

Good Works Fund: discretionary fund.

Grounds Beautification Fund: provides maintenance and beautification of synagogue grounds.

Jack & Gladys Shaprow Scholarships: provides scholarships for Jewish education.

Minyan Fund: fulfills a variety of tzedakah needs and requests for funding.

Norman & Wayne Schafer Adult Education Fund: subsidizes adult education programs at the synagogue.

United Synagogue Youth: helps finance activities of our USY chapter.

 

Tribute Funds ($10 minimum donation)

Capital Campaign: provides funds for major repairs and maintenance of the building.

Endowment Fund: provides long term financial security for the synagogue.

Tree of Life: provides preservation of the synagogue. A small Leaf ($250) or large leaf ($450) will be engraved with words of your choice and mounted on the Tree of Life sculpture in the main lobby.

 

Sisterhood Tribute Funds ($5 minimum donation)

Bedek Habayit Fund: maintains and furnishes our kosher kitchen.

Rudner Library Fund: purchases books and supplies for our library.

Torah Fund: provides financial support to the Jewish Theological Seminary.

 

Yahrzeit Memorials: to commemorate the anniversary of the death of a loved one. The donation can be of any amount (no minimum). The funds are used for the daily operation of the synagogue.

 

Bemah Flowers: to provide fresh flowers for the bemah on the Shabbat or holiday of your choice, $36 or $54. Please call the office, 810-732-6310, to make arrangements.

 

Kiddushim: to learn how you can sponsor a kiddush, please contact Florence Berner or call the office, 810-732-6310. Kiddushim cost is between $50 and $325.

 

Be an Angel: the shul always has a “Wish List” of improvements we need, items we’d like, and programs we’d love to sponsor. If you would like to make a contribution toward any of these, or find out more about what’s on the list, please contact our president, Leonard Meizlish.
